So we all know Disney's catchy song Under the Sea
Do I work for Disney?
Am I here to promote songs from their old films so you would want the old films again?
No and no.
Then why is it relatable:
LET'S LOOK AT THE LYRICS
Okay, the intro says:
Ariel, listen to me
The human world, it's a mess
Life under the sea is better than anything they've got up there
The human world = Romania
Life under the sea = Liverpool
It's basically about an adult trying to convince a teenager that one world is better than the other one.
The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
I mean, sure, Romania has prettier nature, pretty churches, normal people who have brains, Transylvannia with its awesome castles and what else?
But does this mean that Liverpool is less worthy? Ofcourse not
Liverpool has too many Beatles monuments, a creepy park where there was once an orphanage, this weird industrial architecture, sometimes if you're lucky they have Paul McCartney (they haven't captured him yet), this weird cathedral, too many blonde girls with fake tan, bad weather most of the time and what more :)
And okay, these people need 3 (!) alcohol stores (there may be more, who knows) and they tend to pass out on the streets, there's a high number of alcohol consumption (no lie tbh), they wear their PJs while going out (I mean???why???). So I guess we can say there's some marginalastion going on
(I've been avoiding the use of this word for a long time, but at one point you can't avoid the truth any longer ;w; )
BUT DOES THAT MEAN LIVERPOOL IS LESS WORTHY?
The problem is that there's this teenager who keeps believing the "human world" is better. And everyone knows what teenagers are like when you try to tell them something
(teenagers whose name starts with an A and have blue eyes. It's always the same with them)
well, actually she did that long time ago before we met. Already ran off 12 - 13 years ago
oh ye one more comparison
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
These lines might explain her love for dolphins
