Super Accurate Venice-Liverpool History Story

Good news: a new blog post!
Bad news: a new blog post...

Sorry if y'all thought I was dead, this witch is still alive c:

So today I'd like to do a blog post about a theory of mine, which goes the following: There might be a small historical relationship between Venice and Liverpool
(Ye, okay, they're both suspicious city near the water/sea)

(This is also fun since I have one friend with whom I joke about Liverpool and another I joke with about Venice, so perfect combination!

Let's look at the history of Gondolas
While in previous centuries gondolas could be many different colors, a sumptuary law of Venice required that gondolas should be painted black, and they are customarily so painted now.[4]

it says: because of a law, but what if that's just a cover story?
because like mentioned earlier there's a city that's already quite similar

Just imagine Venice, but instead of cute and romantic imagine the cheap, gay and drunk version of it and you get: Liverpool

For a long time Venice didn't mind this, until they Beatlemania appeared.
